Quill – Privacy Policy

Quill is developed by Didier Fuentes. Your privacy is important to us, and this Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.
Information We Collect
Quill accesses your Instagram account via the Instagram Graph API using OAuth 2.0. The app imports your existing captions — only the posts you explicitly select. This caption data is used to analyze your writing style and build a voice profile.
When you generate captions, your input parameters (topic, post type, mood, engagement intent) and the generated output are stored in your account.
We collect limited, non-personal usage data to understand how the app is used and to improve its performance. This may include app interactions, feature usage, and crash or performance data.
Third-Party Services
Quill uses third-party services that may collect anonymous usage data in accordance with their own privacy policies:
- Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions, and crash reporting)
- Instagram Graph API (accessed server-side via Cloud Functions for caption import)
These services do not provide us with information that personally identifies you beyond what is required for authentication.
Data Processing
Caption analysis and voice profile generation are performed server-side through Firebase Cloud Functions. Your imported captions and generation inputs are sent to these functions for processing. Generated captions are returned to the app and stored in your Firestore account.
Data Storage
- Imported captions are stored in Firestore under your user account.
- Voice profiles are stored in Firestore with versioning so generations can reference the exact profile that produced them.
- Generation history (inputs, output variations, and selections) is stored in Firestore.
- Preference logs (which captions you chose, edited, or discarded) are stored to improve future results.
- Instagram access tokens are stored server-side and never exposed to the client.
Data Usage
Collected data is used solely to:
- Analyze your writing style and build voice profiles
- Generate captions that match your voice
- Improve generation quality based on your feedback
- Operate and improve the app
- Monitor performance and fix issues
We do not sell, rent, or share user data for advertising or tracking purposes.
Children's Privacy
Quill is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Tracking
Quill does not track users across apps or websites and does not use data for targeted advertising.
